Winston Hills is a Sydney suburb located in New South Wales province, Australia.
Winston Hills is situated 28 kilometers west of the central business district of Sydney, in the Parramatta Region and The Hills Shire local government area. Winston Hills is a member of Greater Western Sydney`s Hills District Area.
During World War II, Winston Hills was named after British Prime Minister Winston Churchill (1874–1965), with the name preferred to Churchill Hills.
This area was named Model Farms in the early days, because this was the area where a model farm was developed to show settlers the crop types that could be grown in different seasons.
The Archeological Site of Toongabbie Government Farm is the heritage-listed site of Goliath Drive, Winston Hills, City of Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia, a former imprisoned State house. The farm was built by convict labor between 1791 and 1813.
Its site includes areas nowtoday known as Palestine Park, Oakes Reserve, and Settlers Walk. It, and is also known as Toongabbie Government`s Farm Convict Site. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Registry on 11 December 2012.
