The Ponds is a Sydney suburb located in New South Wales province, Australia.
It is situated about 40 kilometers (25 mi) northwest of the central business district of Sydney in the territory of the municipal government of Blacktown.
It had a total resident population of 11,731 at the 2016 census.
"The Ponds" was a term chosen to represent the environment of the area, and came from both the community and the surrounding stream called "Second Ponds Creek." In January 2007 the Ponds were formally declared a new suburb.
The Ponds is the most desirable suburb in Sydney according to a 2011 survey. Census statistics report says that Ponds’ has 71% married and dating populations aged over 15 years.
