About Quakers Hill

Quakers Hill is a Sydney suburb located in New South Wales state, Australia.

It lies 40 kilometers (25 mi ) northwest of the central business district of Sydney, in the City of Blacktown's local government area. Quakers Hill is an integral part of Greater Western Sydney.

Quakers Hill is known as 'Quakers' colloquially.

History of Quakers Hill

The first use of the term 'Quaker' in NSW is that of "Quaker's Row," Church Street of Parramatta.

Governor Phillip founded a second settlement at Rose Hill in November 1788, which was renamed Parramatta in June 1791.

In July 1790 he laid down his design for the town, with the main road at the main road High Street (now George) where he proposed an expanded dock and a town square. He named that Quakers Row.
