About McGraths Hill

McGraths Hill is a Sydney suburb located in New South Wales, Australia. It is situated in the local government region of the City of Hawkesbury, 53 kilometers northwest of the central business district of Sydney. 

It is flanked by South Creek in the north-west just before the Hawkesbury River joins. It is named for James McGrath, an Irish prisoner who was shipped on the Hercules in 1802 to Australia.  McGrath  also purchased the land in the area in 1813.

History of McGraths Hill

Mcgraths Hill is about 3.1 square kilometres. It has 2 parks which cover almost 2.8% of the total region. In 2011, the Mcgraths Hill had a population of 2,506 people. In 2016, the suburb had 2, 546 population reflecting a 1.6 percent population increase in the region during that period. 

The Mcgraths Hill households are primarily couples with children.  77.7 percent of Mcgraths Hill residences were owner-occupied in 2011 compared with 78.2 percent in 2016.
