About Llandilo

Llandilo is a suburb of Sydney located in New South Wales state, Australia. It sits 54 kilometers northwest of the central business district in the City of Penrith's local government area.

Llandilo is an integral part of Greater Western Sydney. It  is also a small semi-rural outcrop of two creeks between.

A southern section of Llandilo was included in the Jordan Springs suburb extension on 22 November 2019

History of Llandilo

Llandilo is named after Llandeilo, a town in Welsh.

The Llandilo today, until European colonization, was home to the Mulgoa people who spoke the Darug language. They led a lifestyle of hunter-gatherers regulated by conventional rules, which had their Dreamtime roots.

They had bark huts called 'gunyahs' in their homes. For meat, they hunted kangaroos and emus, and collected yams, berries, and other native plants.

Soon after the First Fleet's landing in Australia in 1788, a smallpox epidemic decimated the local tribal population and made it possible for the settlers to dispose of their land.

Tourist attraction in Llandilo

A park of caravans was composed of a long sequence of concrete parking spaces. The park included a block of amenities on one side and a kiosk with dairy, bread and lollies on the other side. Caravan parks have also been expanding. A modern caravan holiday resort can offer you a complete vacation experience for a fraction of the price of a holiday resort
