Kurrajong is a small town located to the west of the Hawkesbury River of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is situated 75 kilometres north-west of Sydney central business district.
Kurrajong is an Aboriginal name for Australian trees in the genus Brachychiton, which once grew in abundance in the area.
It was around 1790 when the area was first settled. Kurrajong was found to be suitable for the growing of fruit trees as more settlers moved into the area. It has also become renowned for its orchards.
