Kurmond is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is situated in the City of Hawkesbury between Kurrajong and North Richmond on Bells Line of Road.
The suburb is about 70.5 km west of Sydney central business district.
The suburb was originally known as Longleat. Kurmond was derived from the neighbouring town names Kurrajong and Richmond.
In the 1930s, Fred Stephens describes growing up on a soldier settler block at the area.Kurmond was well known at that time for its orchards and soldier resettlement.
