Glenwood is a suburb and part of the Hills District within the Greater Western Sydney region of New South Wales, Australia. It is approximately 33 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of the City of Blacktown.
The name Glenwood came from an historic property in the area, named `Glenwood Park` in the 1940s, but previously known as Norfolk Vale in 1846–1882, and Sorrento in 1882–1941. It was in 1996 when Glenwood was formally recognised as a suburb.
Visit one of the best local birding spots for rare forest birds in Glenwood, the Pigeon Valley Nature Reserve. It is a place for the endangered spotted ground-thrush, a forest bird and two of South Africa`s rarest trees: the Natal elm and the forest loquat.
