Glenwood is a suburb and part of the Hills District within the Greater Western Sydney region of New South Wales, Australia. It is approximately 33 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of the City of Blacktown.
The name Glenwood came from an historic property in the area, named 'Glenwood Park' in the 1940s, but previously known as Norfolk Vale in 1846–1882, and Sorrento in 1882–1941. It was in 1996 when Glenwood was formally recognised as a suburb.
Visit one of the best local birding spots for rare forest birds in Glenwood, the Pigeon Valley Nature Reserve. It is a place for the endangered spotted ground-thrush, a forest bird and two of South Africa's rarest trees: the Natal elm and the forest loquat.
