About Glenorie

Glenorie is a rural suburb and part of the Hills District of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The suburb is located 44 kilometres north-west of central Sydney in the local government area of The Hills Shire and Hornsby Shire.

History of  Glenorie

Glenorie was originally part of Dural and later known as North Dural, however, it caused confusion for the post office. In April 1894, William Black offered two names which are Hazeldore and Glenoriethe to Colony's Postmaster General. Glenorie was accepted as it had the support of the local progress association. It was named after a known and popular town in Scotland.
