Freemans Reach is a suburb in the Hawkesbury Region of New South Wales, Australia. The suburb is situated 65 kilometres north-west of Sydney in the local government area of the City of Hawkesbury. It is also bounded by the Hawkesbury River in the south.
Freemans Reach is a locality and a reach of the Hawkesbury north of Richmond and upstream of Argyle Reach.
The suburb’s origin was uncertain as it has several ideas where it came from. It was said that it was settled by free men in the early times. Some also say that it was named after two brothers who settled in the area. Also in the 1828 Census lists, Samuel Freeman, a millwright, is living at Richmond.
