About Bligh Park

Bligh Park  is a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It has a postcode of 2756 that covers the suburbs of Windsor, South Windsor, Windsor Downs and Ebenezer. 

The suburb is about 58 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Hawkesbury. It is also part of the Greater Western Sydney region.

History of Bligh Park

As an honour, Bligh Park was named after William Bligh, the then-deposed governor of New South Wales. He was supported by the Hawkesbury settlers at the time of the Rum Rebellion. The streets in the suburb are named after ships and people on the First Fleet.

Tourist Attractions in Bligh Park

Bligh Park has plenty of facilities such as a small local shopping centre which includes a grocery store, a takeaway store, a chemist, a bakery and a pizza shop. There are also a number of parks for families, netball courts and footy fields. 

The well-known Bligh Park Family Tavern is a place for families to unwind, have a beer and a punt.

Schools and Sports in Bligh Park

There are two Public Primary Schools in the suburb including Bligh Park Public School. A Catholic High School on the edge of Bligh Park, as well as a Catholic Primary School which is the Chisholm Catholic Primary School.  

Bligh Park has Bounty Reserve and Colonial,  two large sporting ovals used as training arenas for sporting clubs such as Bligh Park Cricket Club, Bligh Park Soccer Club and Windsor Wolves Junior Rugby League Club.
