Bella Vista is a suburb situated north-west of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It sits about 33 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of The Hills Shire.
Bella Vista nestles within the local government area of the Hills Shrine under the state electorate of Baulkham Hills.
In 1799, Joseph Foveaux was granted 400 hectares and was sold to John Macarthur in 1801. John and his wife Elizabeth began farming sheep on its property. John went overseas so Elizabeth managed the agricultural business of the family in which she called the farm, Seven Hills Farm.
The part of the land was later acquired by the Pearce family which became known as Bella Vista.
Bella Vista has several hotels and shopping centers, as well as parks and commercial offices. There are the Blowing Spring Park and Arboretum, and the Wishing Spring Gallery. The gallery is where the art paintings, prints, photography, pottery,wood creations, crafts and unique gifts of all handmade items can be found. As well as the Bella Vista Museum which has the amazing history of the suburb.
The largest commercial area in Bella Vista is the Norwest Business Park that incorporates retail, commercial, industrial and hotel developments.
Bella Vista is home to numerous schools. These are the Bella Vista Public School, Baulkham Hills High School, Crestwood High School, Crestwood Public School, Gilroy Catholic College, Glenwood High School, Hillsong Church, Matthew Pearce Public School, Model Farms High School and St Michael's Primary School.
