About Annangrove

Annangrove is a suburb that can be found at Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The suburb is about 42 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of The Hills Shire and part of the Hills District region.

History of Annangrove

The suburb was named after Annangrove House. It is the home of Edward Charles Johnston, a grandson of George Johnston who had received a large grant in present-day Annandale. The Annangrove House took its name from the Scottish town of Annan where George Johnston was born.

The first industry in the area was timber cutting. From the 1880s, the land was used for orchards.

It was in 1915 when Annangrove had become the customary name for the suburb.
